Terms of Use
Last updated: November 2, 2026
These terms apply to the SideDeck phone app, the SideDeck Mac app (together the “Apps”) and this website, provided by Hakjae Kim (“we”, “us”). By using the Apps you agree to them.
1. The phone app
On iPhone, the phone app is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). These terms add to it; if they conflict, the Standard EULA prevails for the phone app on iPhone.
2. The Mac app
We grant you a free, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the SideDeck Mac app on Macs you own or control. Download it only from this website. You may not sell, redistribute or modify it, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows.
3. In-app purchases
Paid features, if offered, are sold through the app store you got the phone app from (Apple's App Store on iPhone) and are subject to its terms, including its refund process. Purchases are tied to your account with that store.
4. Your buttons, your responsibility
SideDeck performs the actions you set up — keyboard shortcuts, menu commands, typed text, opening apps, files and web pages, and arranging windows — on your Mac. You are responsible for the actions you configure and for using the Apps in line with the law and the terms of the apps you control with them. Check a new button before relying on it for anything important.
5. Third-party apps and trademarks
SideDeck can control other apps, and ready-made decks use their default shortcuts. Those apps belong to their owners, may change at any time, and are not affiliated with or endorsed by us. Apple, iPhone, Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.
6. No warranty
The Apps are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't promise the Apps will be uninterrupted, error-free, or work with every app, keyboard layout or macOS version.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Apps. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to use the Apps after that means you accept the update.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without affecting your rights as a consumer where you live.
